Baking my own bread

Last week I baked bread and it was kinda fun. So thought of just putting up some pictures of my bread. This was my husband's idea that we should try out bread baking.

Baked it using the bread mix so not much of recipe to put on here - just added bread mix and warm water to make a dough. And after rolling it into various shapes and sizes, baked it in the oven.

Dry fruits and chocolate chip cake

Ingredients :
250 gm self raising flour
250 gm caster sugar
250 gm butter
50 gm cocoa
1/2 cup mixed dry fruits (raisins, apricots, cherry, pineapple)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
 4 eggs

Method :
1. Melt the butter and add the eggs to it. Beat the mixture together to get a fine consistency.
2. Add sugar to the mixture and beat again.
3. Slowly add the flour and cocoa to the mixture and beat it to maintain the consistency. Ensure that no lumps are formed.
4. To this add the dry fruits and choco chips.
5. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees C.
6. Grease the cake pan with butter on the bottom and the sides. And pour the cake batter in the pan.
7. Bake the cake for 20 minutes.
8. Remove and check if the cake is done. You can put a knife through the cake and check if the knife comes out clean. If it does, then the cake is almost done. If the knife is a little sticky, bake the cake for some more time.

Decoration:
You can use an icing roll on the cake for decoration.
For home made icing - Melt a chocolate bar and using a knife spread smoothly on the cake surface and sides.
Decorate the cake with choco chips, cherries, pineapples or sugar strands.

Tips:
If you do not have cocoa, i use drinking chocolate as a substitute.
You can cut the chocolate bar into pieces to make the choco chips.
